System vocabulary
Precise definitions of LifeMap's own system terms. Use them as a reference to understand the method, cite them, or share them.
Bilingual (Spanish and English) life-design system structured in 6 parts. It is not a course, a journal, or a generic planner: it is a protocol that integrates reflection, diagnosis, decision-making, and planning into a single coherent system designed to be used once a year.
Central visual diagnostic of the LifeMap system. Evaluates 10 dimensions of life grouped into 4 categories (A · Foundations, B · Relationships, C · Purpose, D · Resources). Each axis is rated from 1 to 10 for the current situation (TODAY) and the year's goal (GOAL).
The 10 life dimensions of the LifeMap system: 1 · Health/Vitality, 2 · Mind/Emotions, 3 · Spirituality/Values (category A), 4 · Partner/Love, 5 · Family, 6 · Friends/Community (category B), 7 · Purpose/Contribution, 8 · Work/Vocation (category C), 9 · Finances/Wealth, 10 · Time/Lifestyle (category D).
The complete structure of LifeMap: I · Closing the previous year, II · Present snapshot (Wheel), III · The 3 Decisions, IV · Year design, V · Year-end closing (final check-in), VI · Evolution [Year] → [Year+1].
The third step of the LifeMap system. It consists of consciously deciding what you will Release (what no longer serves you or weighs you down), what you will Keep (what works and you want to preserve), and what you will Create (the new things you want to bring into your life this year).
The most important change that, if it happens this year, will have the greatest positive cascading impact on all other axes of the Wheel. It is not the only goal of the year, but the leverage point: the main focus from which everything else moves. It is defined in Part IV of the system.
The reset mechanism of the LifeMap system. When the year is not going as expected, the Phoenix Protocol provides a structured process to do a new partial closing, redefine the current situation, and relaunch the year from where you are. It is inspired by the phoenix: it is not giving up, it is reinventing yourself with intention.
The four fundamental resources that LifeMap recognizes as essential to a well-designed year: Time, Money, Energy, and Knowledge. The system guides the user to consciously decide how to invest each of these Treasures in their priority axes throughout the year.
A LifeMap distinction for prioritization. Glass Balls are life areas that, if dropped, break forever or are very hard to recover (health, children during childhood, relationships in crisis). Rubber Balls bounce back: if you let them go today, you can pick them up later. This distinction helps make the 3 Decisions with clarity.
The basic path of the LifeMap system. Includes the first 4 parts: closing the previous year, Wheel of 10 Axes, the 3 Decisions, and designing the focus axes. Ideal for those starting out or wanting a complete annual review in 2-3 hours.
The complete path of the LifeMap system. Includes all 7 parts, adding to the Core Path the detailed year design (Theme, Transformation #1, the 4 Treasures, Phoenix Protocol), the action map, and the Evolution [Year] → [Year+1] record. Takes 4 to 6 hours.
A word or short phrase that captures the essence of what you want this year to be. It is not a goal or a measurable target: it is an emotional and philosophical compass that guides all decisions of the year. Examples: 'My reinvention', 'Building my freedom', 'Healing and growing'.
